وُلدت عام 1966 في مدينة عطبرة، مدينة الحديد والنار، القلب النابض للحركة العمالية والفكرية السودانية. كان ذلك في عام «الحصان الناري» حسب التقويم الصيني، ولذلك ربما اكتسبت بعض صفاته. منذ نعومة أظفاري تشرّبت روح القراءة والتفكر والتحرر والانتماء لقضايا الوطن والإنسانية — ذلك لأن عطبرة ليست فقط مسقط رأس، بل مدرستي الأولى التي علّمتني أن السياسة فعل إنساني بامتياز.
نشأت في بيئة فقيرة ولكن تعتزّ بالكرامة الإنسانية. تعرّفت على أناس عزيزين — جعفر محمد إدريس، أستاذ خضر وداعة، محمد البحيري — تعلّمت منهم التفكير حول الأسئلة الكبيرة: الحرية والعدالة الاجتماعية، علاقة الدين بالمجتمع والدولة، مكان الإنسان في الكون ومكان السودان في العالم.
I was born in 1966 in Atbara — Sudan's city of iron and fire, the vibrant heart of the country's labour and intellectual movements. That was the year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese calendar, and perhaps I inherited some of its qualities. From an early age I absorbed the spirit of reading, reflection, emancipation and commitment to the causes of the homeland and humanity.
I grew up in a poor but dignified environment. I came to know dear people — Jaafar Mohamed Idris, Professor Khedr Wadaa, Mohamed Al-Buheiri — from whom I learned to think about the great questions: freedom and social justice, the relationship between religion and society and state, Sudan's place in the world.
انخرطت مبكراً في العمل السياسي، حيث انضممت للحزب الشيوعي وأنا ابن سبعة عشر ربيعاً. كنت شيوعياً مخلصاً حتى اتّضح لي وهم الأيديولوجية الشيوعية وأنا بعمر الثلاثين. تركت الحزب الشيوعي ولم أترك قيم العدالة الاجتماعية والعلمانية والتقدم.
انتميت بعدها إلى التيار الليبرالي الاجتماعي في السودان، حيث أسّست الحزب الليبرالي عام 2003 وحملة سودان المستقبل عام 2017 ومبادرة عهد جديد عام 2026. أمضيت أكثر من أربعة عقود من الكتابة والتنظيم والمناصرة صقلت رؤيتي وعمّقت التزامي.
I became politically active early, joining the Communist Party at seventeen. I was a loyal communist until, at thirty, the illusion of communist ideology became clear to me. I left the party but not the values of social justice, secularism and progress.
I then aligned with Sudan's social liberal current, founding the Liberal Party in 2003, the Sudan of the Future campaign in 2017 and the New Era initiative in 2026. More than four decades of writing, organising and advocacy have sharpened my vision and deepened my commitment.
درست القانون في السودان والصحافة والعلوم السياسية في بولندا، ودرست بصورة فردية أضعاف ما تعلّمته أكاديمياً. أصدرت أكثر من عشرين كتاباً في السياسة والفلسفة والشأن الأفريقي والتصوف والإصلاح الديني — نُشر كثير منها على Archive.org وتُقرأ اليوم في أرجاء العالم.
عملت في التدريس والترجمة والمنظمات غير الحكومية والبحث في السفارات. شاركت في تأسيس شركات ومبادرات اقتصادية متعددة في السودان وبولندا وأفريقيا.
I studied law in Sudan and journalism and political science in Poland, and have studied independently far more than I learned academically. I published more than twenty books on politics, philosophy, African affairs, Sufism and religious reform — many available on Archive.org and read across the world today.
I have worked in teaching, translation, NGOs and research in embassies. I co-founded several companies and economic initiatives across Sudan, Poland and Africa.
أُعرّف عن نفسي بوضوح: ليبرالي، تقدمي، أؤمن بالوحدة الأفريقية. أنتمي إلى الحزب الليبرالي السوداني وحملة سودان المستقبل ومبادرة عهد جديد وشبكة أفريقيا الليبرالية.
أشغل منصب نائب الأمين العام للتحالف الأفريقي الديمقراطي للحرية والتقدم (ADAFP) الذي يضم أكثر من 50 منظمة من 27 دولة أفريقية. أسّست في بولندا المؤسسة الأوروبية-الأفريقية (2005) ومنظمة السلام المتحدة UPO (2023) ومؤسسة الدبلوماسية والأعمال DBF (2024).
I define myself clearly: liberal, progressive, believer in African Unity. I belong to the Sudan Liberal Party, Sudan of the Future campaign, the New Era initiative and the Africa Liberal Network.
I serve as Deputy Secretary-General of ADAFP, comprising more than 50 organisations from 27 African countries. In Poland I founded the Euro-African Foundation (2005), United Peace Organisation UPO (2023) and Diplomacy and Business Foundation DBF (2024).
استقررت في وارسو، العاصمة البولندية، لكن ارتباطي بالسودان وأفريقيا لم ينقطع لحظة واحدة. زرت معظم دول أوروبا ونصف دول أفريقيا، وتظل عطبرة مكاني المفضل. وارسو قاعدة ومنصة: منها أتابع قضايا السودان وأبني جسور التعاون الأفريقي الأوروبي وأشارك في المحافل الدولية.
بعد تجارب عديدة، اقترنت بزوجتي العزيزة د. عزة أبو قصيصة — حبيبة ورفيقة درب ومستشارة وعمود الأسرة. لي ابنة واحدة اسمها أمالية، وهي مصدر فخري وبهجتي وإلهامي.
I settled in Warsaw, Poland, but my connection to Sudan and Africa has never been severed. I have visited most of Europe and half of Africa, and Atbara remains my favourite place. Warsaw is my base and platform: from here I follow Sudan's affairs, build bridges of African-European cooperation and participate in international forums.
I married my dear wife Dr. Azza Abu Qasisa — my love, life partner, adviser and the pillar of our family. I have one daughter, Amalia, who is my pride, my joy and my inspiration.
السودان يمر بأخطر لحظاته منذ الاستقلال. الحرب الدائرة بين الجيش وقوات الدعم السريع ليست مجرد نزاع عسكري، بل هي نتاج عقود من تسييس المؤسسة العسكرية وضعف الدولة المدنية وغياب العدالة الانتقالية.
موقفي واضح: لا سلام بلا عدالة، ولا استقرار بلا دولة مدنية ديمقراطية حقيقية. أؤمن بضرورة محاسبة مرتكبي الجرائم، وإعادة هيكلة القوات المسلحة تحت السيطرة المدنية، وبناء نظام فيدرالي يعترف بتنوع السودان ويحقق توزيعاً عادلاً للموارد والسلطة.
Sudan is passing through its most dangerous moment since independence. The war between the army and the RSF is not merely a military conflict but the product of decades of politicisation of the military institution, weakness of civil governance and absence of transitional justice.
My position is clear: no peace without justice, no stability without a genuine civilian democratic state.
أفريقيا قارة المستقبل — ليس لأنها غنية بالموارد فحسب، بل لأن شعوبها الشابة تحمل طاقة تحولية هائلة. لكن هذا المستقبل مشروط بالتحول الديمقراطي الحقيقي، ومحاربة الفساد، وبناء مؤسسات قادرة على تحقيق التنمية والعدالة.
أؤمن بالوحدة الأفريقية كمشروع سياسي وليس مجرد هوية ثقافية. والشراكة الأفريقية-الأوروبية يجب أن تُبنى على المساواة والمصالح المشتركة، لا على منطق المانح والمتلقي.
Africa is the continent of the future — not merely because it is rich in resources, but because its young peoples carry enormous transformative energy. Yet this future is conditional on genuine democratic transformation, fighting corruption and building institutions capable of delivering development and justice.
I believe in African Unity as a political project, not merely a cultural identity.
النظام الدولي في أزمة عميقة. صعود الشعبوية واليمين المتطرف في الغرب، والاستبداد المتجدد في الجنوب، والتوترات الجيوسياسية الكبرى — كلها تُهدد منظومة حقوق الإنسان والقانون الدولي.
أقف مع النظام الليبرالي الدولي مع ضرورة إصلاحه جذرياً ليعكس التوازنات الجديدة ويُنصف دول الجنوب. وأرى في علاقة السودان وأفريقيا بأوروبا فرصة استراتيجية حقيقية إذا بُنيت على أساس الاحترام المتبادل.
The international order is in deep crisis. The rise of populism and far-right extremism in the West, renewed authoritarianism in the South, and major geopolitical tensions all threaten the human rights framework and international law.
I stand for the liberal international order while insisting on its radical reform to reflect new balances and do justice to the countries of the South.
أدعو إلى أن يتحوّل البحر الأحمر من منطقة توتر وصراع إلى بحيرة سلام وتعاون حقيقية. هذا البحر الذي تطل عليه دول عربية وأفريقية متعددة يجب أن يكون جسراً للتكامل لا ساحةً للحروب بالوكالة.
وفيما يخص القرن الأفريقي، أدعو إلى الاندماج الكامل لدول المنطقة على غرار SADC وECOWAS، تمهيداً للوحدة الأفريقية الشاملة. أرفض رفضاً قاطعاً كل أشكال الاضطهاد القومي الداخلي أو ممارسات الإمبريالية الفرعية من أي دولة كانت — ومن السودان لو جاءت.
I call for the Red Sea to be transformed from a zone of tension and conflict into a genuine lake of peace and cooperation.
Regarding the Horn of Africa, I call for full integration of the region's countries modelled on SADC and ECOWAS. I categorically reject all forms of internal national oppression — whether practised by large states exercising sub-imperialism over their neighbours, or by Sudan itself toward any of its peoples or neighbours.
الحياة لا تُبنى وحيداً. هؤلاء هم الذين أضاؤوا الطريق وشاركوا الأحلام وتقاسموا الحلوة والمرة. Life is not built alone. These are the people who lit the way, shared the dreams, and stood through good times and hard ones.

ابنتي وقرة عيني ومصدر بهجتي. بعد أمي هي أكثر شخص أحببته في الدنيا. شخصيتها قريبة من شخصيتي ولذلك فإن التعامل معها صعب أحياناً — لكن حسّها بالعدالة والكرامة عالٍ جداً، وهذا يملأني فخراً لا حدود له. My daughter, the apple of my eye and the source of my joy. After my mother she is the person I have loved most in this world. Her sense of justice and dignity is extraordinarily high, and that fills me with boundless pride.
ربّتني وأنا صغير وشاركت في معظم مشاريعي وأنا كبير. أخت بالدم، وأم بالقلب، وصديقة بالروح. محاسبتي ومستشارتي في كل الأوقات. She raised me when I was young and has shared in most of my projects as I grew. A sister by blood, a mother at heart, a friend in spirit. My accountant and adviser in all times.
