وُلدت في مدينة عطبرة، مدينة الحديد والنار، القلب النابض للحركة العمالية والفكرية السودانية. منذ نعومة أظفاري تشرّبت روح النقاش والتحرر والانتماء لقضايا الوطن والإنسانية. عطبرة ليست مجرد مسقط رأس — هي مدرستي الأولى التي علّمتني أن السياسة فعل إنساني بامتياز.
I was born in Atbara — Sudan's city of iron and fire, the vibrant heart of the country's labour and intellectual movements. From an early age I was immersed in the spirit of debate, emancipation and commitment to the causes of the homeland and humanity. Atbara was not merely my birthplace; it was my first school, teaching me that politics is fundamentally a human act.
نشأ في بيئة تزدحم بالأسئلة الكبيرة: عن الحرية والعدالة، عن الهوية الأفريقية والعربية، عن مكان السودان في العالم. هذه الأسئلة لم تتركه قط، وتحولت مع الزمن إلى مشاريع فكرية وسياسية ومؤسسية.
I grew up in an environment brimming with the great questions: about freedom and justice, about African and Arab identity, about Sudan's place in the world. These questions never left me, and over time they transformed into intellectual, political and institutional projects — the story of my life.
درست الصحافة والعلوم السياسية، وجمعت بين الأكاديمي والعملي منذ البداية. كتبت في الصحافة العربية والسودانية لعقود، وأصدرت أكثر من عشرين كتاباً في السياسة والفلسفة والشأن الأفريقي والتصوف والإصلاح الديني — نُشر كثير منها على منصة Archive.org وتُقرأ اليوم في أرجاء العالم.
I studied journalism and political science, combining the academic and the practical from the outset. For decades I have written in the Arab and Sudanese press, and published more than twenty books on politics, philosophy, African affairs, Sufism and religious reform — many available on Archive.org and read across the world today.
انخرطت مبكراً في العمل السياسي، وانتميت إلى التيار الليبرالي التقدمي في السودان. أسّست وشاركت في تأسيس عدد من الأحزاب والحركات والمنظمات، وكنت دائماً صوتاً للمظلومين وضحايا الاستبداد. ثلاثة عقود من الكتابة والتنظيم والمناصرة صقلت رؤيتي وعمّقت التزامي.
I became involved in political work early, aligning with Sudan's liberal progressive current. I founded or co-founded several parties, movements and organisations, and have consistently been a voice for the oppressed and victims of authoritarianism. Three decades of writing, organising and advocacy have sharpened my vision and deepened my commitment.
أُعرّف عن نفسي بوضوح: ليبرالي، تقدمي، عموم أفريقي. هذه ليست مجرد أوصاف، بل مشاريع حياة. أنتمي إلى الحزب الليبرالي السوداني وحملة سودان المستقبل وشبكة أفريقيا الليبرالية وحركة عهد جديد. وعلى المستوى القاري، أشغل منصب نائب الأمين العام للتحالف الأفريقي الديمقراطي للحرية والتقدم (ADAFP) الذي يضم 51 منظمة من 27 دولة أفريقية.
I define myself clearly: liberal, progressive, Pan-Africanist. These are not mere labels but life projects. I am a member of the Sudan Liberal Party, the Sudan of the Future campaign, the Africa Liberal Network and the New Era movement. At the continental level, I serve as Deputy Secretary-General of the African Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress (ADAFP), comprising 51 organisations from 27 African countries.

In Poland I founded the Euro-African Foundation, the Diplomacy and Business Foundation (DBF) and the United Peace Organisation (UPO), making Warsaw a genuine base for African and Sudanese work at the heart of Europe.
استقررت في وارسو، العاصمة البولندية، حيث أدير شبكة واسعة من المشاريع والعلاقات التي تربط أوروبا بأفريقيا. وارسو ليست محطة بل منصة: منها أتابع قضايا السودان والأزمة الإنسانية الراهنة، وأبني جسور التعاون الأفريقي الأوروبي، وأشارك في المؤتمرات والمحافل الدولية دفاعاً عن القضايا التي آمنت بها.
I am based in Warsaw, Poland, where I manage a broad network of projects and relationships connecting Europe with Africa. Warsaw is not a way-station but a platform: from here I follow Sudan's affairs and the current humanitarian crisis, build bridges of African-European cooperation, and participate in international forums and conferences in defence of the causes I believe in.
متزوج من عزة، ولي ابنة واحدة اسمها أمالية — هي بهجتي وإلهامي. أؤمن بأن الفعل السياسي الحقيقي يبدأ من قيم راسخة وينتهي بنتائج ملموسة.
I am married to Azza and have one daughter, Amalia — my joy and my inspiration. I believe that real political action begins with firm values and ends in tangible results.

السودان يمر بأخطر لحظاته منذ الاستقلال. الحرب الدائرة بين الجيش وقوات الدعم السريع ليست مجرد نزاع عسكري، بل هي نتاج عقود من تسييس المؤسسة العسكرية وضعف الدولة المدنية وغياب العدالة الانتقالية.
موقفي واضح: لا سلام بلا عدالة، ولا استقرار بلا دولة مدنية ديمقراطية حقيقية. أؤمن بضرورة محاسبة مرتكبي الجرائم، وإعادة هيكلة القوات المسلحة تحت السيطرة المدنية، وبناء نظام فيدرالي يعترف بتنوع السودان ويحقق توزيعاً عادلاً للموارد والسلطة.
Sudan is passing through its most dangerous moment since independence. The war between the army and the RSF is not merely a military conflict but the product of decades of politicisation of the military institution, weakness of civil governance and absence of transitional justice. My position is clear: no peace without justice, no stability without a genuine civilian democratic state.
أفريقيا قارة المستقبل — ليس لأنها غنية بالموارد فحسب، بل لأن شعوبها الشابة تحمل طاقة تحولية هائلة. لكن هذا المستقبل مشروط بالتحول الديمقراطي الحقيقي، ومحاربة الفساد، وبناء مؤسسات قادرة على تحقيق التنمية والعدالة.
أؤمن بالأفريقانية كمشروع سياسي وليس مجرد هوية ثقافية. الاتحاد الأفريقي يحتاج إلى إصلاح جذري كي يكون أداة فعّالة للتكامل والسلام. والشراكة الأفريقية-الأوروبية يجب أن تُبنى على المساواة والمصالح المشتركة، لا على منطق المانح والمتلقي.
Africa is the continent of the future — not merely because it is rich in resources, but because its young peoples carry enormous transformative energy. Yet this future is conditional on genuine democratic transformation, fighting corruption and building institutions capable of delivering development and justice.
النظام الدولي في أزمة عميقة. صعود الشعبوية واليمين المتطرف في الغرب، والاستبداد المتجدد في الجنوب، والتوترات الجيوسياسية الكبرى — كلها تُهدد منظومة حقوق الإنسان والقانون الدولي التي بنيناها بصعوبة بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية.
أقف مع النظام الليبرالي الدولي مع ضرورة إصلاحه جذرياً ليعكس التوازنات الجديدة ويُنصف دول الجنوب. وأرى في علاقة السودان وأفريقيا بأوروبا فرصة استراتيجية حقيقية إذا بُنيت على أساس الاحترام المتبادل.
The international order is in deep crisis. The rise of populism and far-right extremism in the West, renewed authoritarianism in the South, and major geopolitical tensions all threaten the human rights framework and international law we built with difficulty after the Second World War. I stand for the liberal international order while insisting on its radical reform to reflect new balances and do justice to the countries of the South.
أنطلق من موقف علماني يتجاوز الأديان دون أن يعاديها. أحترم الأديان باعتبارها روافد ثقافية وروحية واجتماعية عميقة في حياة الإنسان، وقد كتبت في التصوف والإصلاح الديني تقديراً لهذا البعد الروحي في تجربتنا الإنسانية.
لكنني أرى بوضوح أن إدارة شؤون الدولة والمجتمع يجب أن تستند إلى العقل والعلم والمعرفة الإنسانية المتراكمة، لا إلى التفسيرات الدينية التي تختلف وتتعدد. التفكير العلمي العقلاني ليس عدواً للروحانية، بل هو شرط ازدهار المجتمعات الإنسانية.
I proceed from a secular position that transcends religions without being hostile to them. I respect religions as deep cultural, spiritual and social tributaries in human life, and I have written on Sufism and religious reform out of appreciation for this spiritual dimension of our human experience. But I see clearly that the management of state and society must rest on reason, science and accumulated human knowledge — not on religious interpretations that differ and multiply. Rational scientific thinking is not the enemy of spirituality; it is a condition for the flourishing of human societies.

These are the people who lit the way, shared the dreams, and stood through the good times and the hard ones. Each of them shaped my journey in their own way — and I am indebted to them all.
